This is one of my very favorite thrift store finds. She stands in my Prayer Room, and reminds me every morning that we must stay dressed. As Christians, we are always dressed in His Righteousness, and when we dwell in His Shelter, all of the Psalm 91 covenant promises of protection are ours…but as Christians, we have our own responsibility to dress ourselves in the Armor of God.
This morning, I pray this prayer for myself and in intercession of all of you. Please join me:
Lord, we will be strong in You and find our strength in YOUR might. We will put on the whole armor of God, the stuff YOU provide for us to wear, so that we can stand against the devil’s schemes. We aren’t wrestling with flesh and blood; we are wrestling with the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this present darkness, the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places; therefore, it is imperative, of the utmost importance, that we wear what ONLY YOU provide, the WHOLE armor. We WILL withstand against this evil, these chaotic days brought on by what is being called “coronavirus”. We will do all, to STAND FIRM, believing and trusting You to turn everything around. You will use this for our good and for Your perfect plans. We know the devil is out to steal from us, to kill us, and to destroy us. BUT GOD, YOU sent YOUR SON so that we will have life abundantly, a blessed life without measure.
We STAND, then, and fasten on the belt of truth, we put on the breastplate of righteousness, and our feet wear the shoes of peace. In ALL circumstances, we take up and carry with us the shield of faith–that piece of armor alone extinguishes all the flaming darts of the evil one. We wear the helmet of salvation, and it is by His Blood that covers our minds and drenches us from head to toe. We will store up the Word of God and wield it as our sword of the Spirit.
We will pray always in the Spirit. To the end, we will stay alert and move forward with perseverance. We will stand in intercession for our family, our friends, and others we do not know. We ask Lord that You will always give us words to speak to others, life-giving and life-sustaining words…Your words. We open our mouths to boldly proclaim the mystery of the Gospel, that we declare it boldly, as we ought to speak.
Our lives are in Your hands, and it’s all about You, and for You, our Lord and our God! (Ephesians 6) In Jesus’ Mighty and Precious Name, Amen!
